PULAU REDANG

SYNOPSIS

Around Pulau Pangkor
But you may want to see some attractions on the Malaysian mainland. No problem here too. In the vicinity there are some attractions worth to see.
Taiping, Lake Gardens, a magnificent view in the early morning
Think of the mining city of Taiping, the Royal City of Kuala Kangsar or the capital of Perak: Ipoh with Kellies Castle nearby. The coastal area is full of fishing villages like Pantai Remis and if you are lucky, you may even get an experience like I had in Panchor.
Inlands you will find the little town of Kampar with the Gua Tempurung caves which is seldom visited but offer quite some interesting things.
Visit some of the fish farms around Pulau Pangkor, for example at Damar Laut (few people, if any ever visit this area just opposite of Lumut. Many people forget Teluk Senangin. I know, it's a little out from Lumut, but it's totally unspoiled.
Stingray in the waters of Sembilan Islands
For a few ringit, the fishermen are happy to show you around. And when you buy the fish you can ask your restaurant to prepare for the fish for you. And on the mainland you can visit some beautifully preserved Mangrove forests.
Visit for example the beautiful Chinese cemeteries near Lumut and Seri Manjung while you go for some shopping in Sitiawan.
In fact, Pangkor has for everyone, something. Maybe you like to hang out on one the beaches, or you are more into activities (try to find Teluk Segadas!). Do you have an interest in history or temples, anyone can have their share. Whatever you imagine, Pangkor has it! (ok ok.. maybe not for EVERYBODY, no disco's here....).

Local Radar
Detailed Forecast

I visit the island almost on a weekly base, after all, I live so close by. And even after more then 3 years, I still see new things, new places, even new beaches. Pulau Pangkor deserves, as I wrote earlier the name "beautiful island" for 100%. If you come with a family (see Nazlina's report) or independent, (Irina and Jonathans' story ) you will find something special. Pangkor is lovely, let hope we can keep it that way!
Other Islands in Malaysia
Although this website focuses on Pangkor, there are many more islands in Malaysia. On this website we elaborate a little more on the following islands, as we think they too are worth a visit: Penang, Langkawi, Perhentian, Redang and Tioman. Of course we give information about diving facilities, but also for Penang we have real estate and land properties available.
And, as you already expect, for all the islands we have sorted out our favorite hotels.
By now you understand it, I love this little Malaysia island with the name Pangkor! Come to Pangkor and we may even meet! And if you don't have time to visit Pangkor, well, visit at least one of the other beautiful Malaysian islands.
Yours Peter
